Ansley's First Tutu

Ansley is going to be a pumpkin for Halloween, aparently, a very ornate one at that. She is so gorgeous and we are so blessed to be her parents. I just wanted to show everyone how precious and cute my little girl is...

I'll have to post more details later on, but here are a few pictures from our weekend trip to St. Louis. We spent the weekend at a reunion of some of our dearest friends. It was absolutely glorious to see them all, and exciting to introduce Ansley to all the other new babies! The first picture is the girls with the kids (minus one baby--it was naptime, and, especially after such a long weekend, you don't mess with naptime!) including two in-utero. The other pictures are of the babies closest to Ansley in age...she is the middle born of three. Micah is 11 days older and Mikail is 11 days younger! Also, Justus is about 4 months younger. I don't have an individual picture of the newest baby-Garreth-he's only a month old, but he's in the group shot. I get a kick out of thinking about our reunion here in a couple of years when we'll have 5 two year olds...that ought to be an exciting time! All in all, it was a great weekend, and we were blessed by our time with our friends and their beautiful families.

The rest of the year...

It's hard to believe that it is August already, actually we are a third of the way through August... Man time flies. A couple of quick notes for the rest of this year, as I am now realizing that in some ways I have wasted most of the year already and in other ways not.

1) We will be blogging more often. I want to be able to keep up with my friends and family and want them to know what's going on with us. Sorry we've been so horribly lax in this.

2) On that same note I've decided to start telling my friends and family how I feel about them on a more regular basis. So often we rob others of the encouragement they need just b/c we're too embarrassed, busy, or insert another excuse here to tell them.

3) I have got to take better care of my body. I want to be around for the majority of Ansley's life. Laurel even said that I could start pranking people again (like in college) if it would help me lose weight! Watch out world...

4) We are going to give more. I don't know exactly what this looks like yet but it's coming...

Jesus, help me not to waste these days and not to fail in these objectives.

Wahoo!!

Finally today I was able to put in notice for my resignation!! Two weeks from today I will officially be a stay-at-home mom with Ansley! I am so excited to be home with her, but also to not be commuting 100 miles every day...praise the Lord!

As you can see she is having a wonderful time playing with this sheet of paper. Moments like this do so much to confirm my decision that Ansley will be getting a box and some paper for Christmas this year and that's about it! Of course, I'm kidding but it makes sense right?

Finally an Update

Well,  it's been forever since we've updated anything...so far we're not doing so great with the whole blogging thing.  Anyway, we're staying extremely busy in the Becker household--plans for South Asia this summer are going well, I've only got a couple more weeks of work before I get to stay at home, and Ansley's growing faster than we can keep up with!  We can't believe she's already 3 1/2 months old-it's crazy how fast time goes.  She's already doing mini-pushups, tracking everything that happens in a room, and rolling over...she completely blows us away.  Anyway, that's really all for now--we're just staying busy and having a blast!

Here We Go...

Well, here we go... The Beckers are entering the blogging world. It seems kind of cliche' making our first blog post all about how we are going to start blogging, but as I (Dave) stare at the cursor blinking on my screen I think it's all I got for now. Especially considering I better get some sleep because Ansley will be waking up in a few short hours needing a new diaper and a feeding. Later...
